Look, I know what you’re thinking.
It’s 2016, Tim. We are SURROUNDED by social media. No one needs their own personal website anymore. that’s what Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Vines is for!
You’re right. I can’t argue with that. Today, the personal website is as obsolete as the typewriter. Sure it still works, but why would you want to use one when you have several or more efficient means of delivering the same message at your disposal?
I suppose there are a lot of reasons for doing this, but the best reason is why not? Fervor.net has been an on and off again thing for about 15 years now, and the old Virtual Apartment that came before it launched in 1996. That’s a good chunk of my life right there, and I’m not quite ready to let it slip off into oblivion just yet.
Besides, with the exception of radios, I am far too scatter shot to limit myself to a single topic blog. I’d rather have a place where I can spout off about whatever it is that interests me at any given moment. Today could be politics, while tomorrow could be everyday carry gear, old school RPGs, or photography. At this point, I am old enough to realize I have no idea what I’ll be interested in next week, but I’m pretty sure I’ll be all in, whatever it is.
So welcome to the latest incarnation of fervor.net. it’s good to have you hanging out. Feel free to pull a cold one from the fridge, and make yourself comfortable. Just be sure to take your shoes off before you put your feet up.
